“I was the last baby delivered by Dr. Noyes. I was born in 1947 at my grandmother’s house in Dixon, Wyo. Dr. Noyes had retired, but came to the house as I would not wait.
When I was in fourth grade, my father was badly burned in an oilfield accident. He was in a pit and a five gallon barrel of burning diesel was accidently turned over into the pit on top of him. He was pulled out and suffered severe burns on his head and hands. He was taken to Casper, Wyo., hospital for several weeks, but they were unable to heal the burns. My mother took him back to Dixon to Dr. Noyes for treatment with his locally famous burn salve. Dr. Noyes and his wife, Savilla, dressed his burns several times a day until he was completely healed.
